Summary
Are you passionate about building community connections and driving engagement for environmental causes? GNN is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to foster an interactive and supportive space for our network of eco-conscious individuals, volunteers, and member groups. You will play a key role in managing User-Generated Content (UGC), promoting events and challenges, and ensuring that volunteer stories and member group features are shared meaningfully.

Duties and Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Content Promotion:
- Actively engage with GNN’s audience by responding to comments, messages, and UGC submissions.
- Promote recurring initiatives like the Eco-Challenge, sharing UGC and celebrating participant contributions.
- Utilize interactive social media features (polls, surveys, Q&As, challenges) to foster community engagement.
- Work with the Social Media Content Strategist to integrate volunteer stories, member group highlights, and user contributions into social content.
User-Generated Content (UGC) & Member Group Spotlights:
- Source and manage high-quality UGC, obtaining permissions and reposting content that highlights eco-action.
- Coordinate with member groups and volunteers featured in the bi-weekly spotlight program, ensuring their contributions receive impactful coverage on GNN’s social media and website.
- Curate and schedule spotlight posts, event recaps, and volunteer testimonials to amplify community voices.
Engagement Tracking & Feedback Collection:
- Monitor engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments, audience participation) and track UGC trends to improve strategies.
- Collect community feedback through interactive tools and surveys to refine engagement tactics.
- Provide insights on engagement performance and community sentiment to support content planning.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Community Management: Experience fostering online interactions and building engaged communities.
- UGC Coordination: Ability to source, curate, and manage user-generated content effectively.
- Event & Challenge Promotion: Skill in promoting and tracking events, challenges, and recurring initiatives.
- Audience Engagement: Strong ability to interact with and encourage participation from followers.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate with volunteers, member groups, and content teams.
- Basic Analytics & Reporting: Familiarity with engagement tracking tools and social media insights.
Desired:
- Background in social media management, content marketing, or community outreach.
- Passion for environmental activism and sustainability initiatives.
- Knowledge of social media trends and engagement tactics for nonprofits.
